1 Rooms & Rates

What rooms do you have available?
We have three rooms: Seaview (twin room with sea views and private bath, £72.50pp), Elie (cosy double with en-suite, £75 per night), and Crail (our largest room, sleeps up to 3, en-suite, £70pp). All rooms are on the upper floor.
Is breakfast included?
Yes, a full breakfast is included with every stay. We offer both continental and cooked options, prepared each morning using the best local produce. Our breakfast is consistently described as outstanding by guests.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is between 3pm and 6pm. Check-out is 10am. If you need to arrange different times, please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

2 Amenities & Facilities

Is there free parking?
Yes, complimentary private parking is available for all guests.
Do you have free Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the guesthouse.
Do you accept pets or dogs?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate dogs or other pets at the Honeypot. We have a dedicated guide to dog-friendly activities and alternative accommodation in Crail on our dog-friendly page.

How far is the Honeypot from St Andrews?
Crail is just 10 miles from St Andrews — approximately 20 minutes by car via the scenic A917 coastal road.

4 Activities & Local Info

Is the Honeypot suitable for walkers on the Fife Coastal Path?
Absolutely! The majority of our guests are Fife Coastal Path walkers. We offer hearty breakfasts, comfortable beds (Seaview has a bath for soaking tired legs), expert route advice, and free parking. We work with leading walking companies worldwide.
Do you have a family room?
Yes, our Crail room sleeps up to 3 adults and is ideal for families. Please contact us to discuss any specific requirements for young children.
How far is it to the harbour?
Crail Harbour is just a few minutes' walk from the Honeypot — we're on the High Street in the centre of the village.
Is there a bath in any of the rooms?
Yes, our Seaview room has a private bathroom with a bath — a favourite with walkers who love to soak after a day on the coastal path. Elie and Crail rooms have en-suite showers.
What is there to do in Crail?
Crail offers a wonderful mix of activities: explore the famous harbour, walk the Fife Coastal Path, visit Roome Bay Beach, dine at The Shoregate (Michelin Guide 2025), browse Crail Pottery, enjoy fresh lobster from the harbour, and much more.
Do you accommodate wedding guests?
Yes, we welcome many guests attending weddings at The Cowshed and Crail Community Hall. Both venues are just minutes from the Honeypot. We recommend booking early for wedding dates.
Are you open all year?
We are open from approximately April to November. Please check availability online or contact us for specific dates.
Can you recommend restaurants in Crail?
Of course! The Shoregate is mentioned in the Michelin Guide 2025. Other options include The Nook cafe, The Beehive coffee shop, Crail Harbour Gallery & Tearoom, Crail Fishbar & Café, and the Golf Hotel. We're always happy to make recommendations.
